SIGMA CHI

THE PREMINENT FRATERNITY

Sigma Chi is the premier men’s fraternal organization on the planet – bar none. We owe that success to an incredible history and heritage which has been continuously built upon since 1855 when seven young men identified an injustice in the world and set out to correct it by living a life of purpose framed through the universal and timeless principles of Friendship, Justice and Learning.

Since that infamous day on June 28, 1855, Sigma Chi has initiated 358,934 members (as of this writing) across more than 300 chapters and through 167 years. Our total living membership is 267,834 men – with just over 14,000 of those men currently occupying our 235 collegiate chapters.

GAMMA PSI

CHOOSING GREATNESS

Our chapter's history can be traced back to 1911 with the formation the Phylean Literary Society. The man who would become the greatest influence in our chapter's history was E.B. Hill. He joined the Phyleans in 1912.

E.B. would become the chairman of the new Department of Farm Management at M.A.C. (MSU). His was a pioneer. His reach was global and he was described as a giant in his field. He was our chapter advisor for 50 years and led our charge to become a Sigma Chi chapter on December 7, 1942.

E.B.'s legacy was his coaching, mentoring, and inspiring young men to become all that they can. Following his example, our chapter's mission remains the same today. To develop tomorrow's leaders in business, industry, and government. Most of in community and with family.

SIGMA CHI LEADERSHIIP INSTITUTE

THE PREMIER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION ON COLLEGE CAMPUSES

Sigma Chi has entered the era of the Transformational Leader. Sigma Chi will soon be the first fraternal organization to offer a true co-educational learning experience for young men when our Sigma Chi Leadership Institute receives its accreditation by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Our SCLI program, combined with our chapter's mission to create leaders of tomorrow, will create a greater fraternal experience and further set Sigma Chi apart from any other fraternity at MSU.

E.B. HILL ENTRUSTED US WITH OUR CHAPTER’S FUTURE

The Spartan Sig Sigma Chi Alumni Association will prove to be second to none. Our leadership teams and unique structure, commitment to support, coach and mentor, and our transformational practices, will set us apart from all others.

Our goal is to not just return Sigma Chi to MSU, but to become the premier fraternity on campus, lift MSU’s entire Greek System, and reestablish Gamma Psi as a leading Sigma Chi chapter. Join us on our journey to revitalize Gamma Psi of Sigma Chi and create the greatest fraternal experience possible.
